Bio

Carlos Geisdorff is Voting Tribal member of the Tuolumne band of Mewuk Indians. He is a head singer and Mewuk dancer.Carlos has been married for 27 years and has four daughters and three grandchildren. Daughters ages 14 years old to 25 years of age. He has worked for the Tuolumne Mewuk Tribal Council for 25 years. He is the Tuolumne Mewuk language program Manager and continues to preserve the language and Culture for his tribe and Community. Carlos has been teaching for 20 plus years. Carlos holds language classes five days a week and some evening sessions. Along with being language teacher he shares and teaches cultural awareness throughout the local Elementary schools and High schools and along with Colleges and Universities. Carlos has attended many language conferences from Northern California to Southern California. Breathe Of life, UC Berkeley, Language is Life Conference at Marin headlands, Sausalito California and UC Davis. The Living Language Circle at Yocha Dehe. Our plan is to help Motivate and Excite People so that they will Revitaize and Keep there Language flourishing in the Communities. There are so many people that have helped me in my language journey to many to list and thank I just know in my Heart I am thankful. So much more to do
learn and share.
