COIL — UC Davis
|
COIL will bring specialists, linguists, and language warriors together to promote Indigenous languages. Language workers will gather in person to share knowledge about cutting-edge curriculum, program administration, and funding.
Join us for three days of sharing and learning language methods in order to nourish and regenerate our languages together. Panel discussions will focus on how to bring funding resources to language programs with special attention to grant writing. Other topics will include curriculum development and immersion techniques. COIL is for people who are involved in language programming, want information on how to begin a language program, or how to acquire grant funding.
This website will be updated with information about invited speakers and panelists in the upcoming weeks. Check back for more information!
This conference is supported by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon foundation, “Sustainable Futures for California’s Indigenous Languages: Resource Development, Training, and Visibility”.
We acknowledge the land on which UC Davis is located, the unceded homelands of Patwin people. For thousands of years, this land has been the home of Patwin people. Today, there are three federally recognized Patwin tribes: Cachil DeHe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation, and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. The Patwin people have remained committed to the stewardship of this land over many centuries. It has been cherished and protected, as elders have instructed the young through generations. We are honored and grateful to be on their traditional lands.
