Sustainable Futures for California’s Indigenous Languages: Resource Development, Training, and Visibility

This project will support activities conducive to the Language Center’s mission, which is to foster meaningful connections between university-based linguistic scholarship and the needs of community-based language initiatives. Activities will include several interrelated areas: training and support for tribal and nonprofit partners’ language programs; developing digital tools to improve access to dictionaries and archival resources; creating pedagogical materials that can be adapted to a variety of languages; and increasing awareness of Native American languages and histories through programming and course offerings.
